Christ the King Sunday

For centuries the Christian Church has worshiped according to the church year that begins four Sundays before Christmas with the season of Advent. The first six months of the church year (December through May) present the life of Christ from his birth until his suffering, death, and resurrection. The second six months of the church year (June through November) present the teachings of Christ and how they impact the life of the Christian.

Today is the last Sunday in the church year. On this Festival of Christ the King we will walk through the church year to see how Christ reigns as King both now and forever. The back of the worship folder today has a graph illustrating the entire church year.
